It was early November 2024. Winter was beginning to show its true colours, with the days and nights turning cold and thorny.
Images of a woman running in the dark, kept playing in my head, like a vivid movie scene.
Who was she?
Why was she running?
These questions made me want to know her life. So, I sat down and began typing her journey.
Bracing the cold winter nights, hiding myself under layers of clothes and comfy blankets, I typed relentlessly.
By March 2025, that dark fleeting image had evolved into a full-blown story as she carried me along in her journey. As I saw the entire story in my mind, I had also typed an outline of it, and thus Velan IPS was born.
What followed was an intense eight-month journey of editing, refining, reviewing, and weaving suspense into every chapter.
At times, it felt like moving a mountain, the entire process was new. I had to learn new things during the course of this journey. In the end, I prevailed, and Velan IPS became what it is today.
In a nutshell, this gripping thriller unfolds over two intense weeks, as a deadly drug menace threatens to spiral out of control, and a local political rivalry turns volatile, Velan, a determined IPS officer, and Anupama, a fearless investigative journalist find their missions colliding.
What follows is a pulse-pounding pursuit of truth, justice, and survival, bringing them ever closer to danger and to each other.
